A little taste of the Land of 10,000 Lakes hits national TV tonight, as American Idol airs its auditions that were taped last September at the Minneapolis Convention Center. The original auditions-- minus judges Harry Connick, Jr., Jennifer Lopez and Keith Urban-- were held in July. Only the singers that got through that audition process were selected to perform in September in front of the judges. It's always fun, though, to see places on national TV that you recognize and have been to in person.

In fact, here's a quick drinking game you can do if you're watching Idol tonight. Take a drink anytime you see or hear: The Grain Belt sign, Mickey's Diner in St. Paul, The Mall of America, the skyline of Lake Calhoun, the Mary Tyler Moore statue, any reference to Prince, Minnehaha Falls, the Cherry on the Spoon, St. Anthony's Falls.
