Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The weather could be a bit dicey for anyone with travel plans on Friday and Christmas Day.

The National Weather Service has included the southeast corner of Minnesota in a winter weather advisory that will be in effect from 6 AM through 9 PM on Friday. Forecasters say the region can expect to see 2 to 4 inches of snow during the day, with the possibility of some freezing drizzle during the evening. Anyone with travel plans is urged to keep a close eye on weather conditions.

The National Weather Service is also closely tracking another storm system that is expected to begin affecting the region on Christmas Eve. Forecasters say freezing drizzle could develop Saturday night and continue into Sunday morning before the temperatures rise enough the precipitation changes over to all rain. They say there is even a chance of some thunderstorm activity on Christmas Day with the high temperature forecast to reach 40 degrees.
