May here in southeast Minnesota is one of my favorite times of the year, mainly because everything is finally starting to green up-- and the threat of snow is (hopefully) over for the season. And, it means there are some really colorful flowers starting to bloom, too.

This year, in our flower bed in the front of the house, we've noticed some pink and red tulips are blossoming. Seeing as all of the flowers in our landscaping were planted by previous owners, we're not exactly sure what's there. But, strangely, we don't remember tulips blossoming in previous years.

Now, it could be that they did, and we just didn't remember it. But, regardless of how they got there or who planted them, it's cool that they're blossoming this year. In fact, now that I've noticed them in our flower bed, I've been noticing the many impressive displays of tulips across Rochester.

And there are a lot! I noticed this really nice-looking display in front of Mayo Clinic's Dan Abraham Healthy Living Center, off 1st Street southwest, yesterday. They're impressive, and, of course, fastidiously groomed as well. (I confess, there are a few weeds that need pulling in our beds...)

Have you noticed any really colorful flower gardens around the Med City?
