The star of a new show set to debut this week on Fox is a fellow Minnesotan!

If you've seen the promos for the new Fox show, 'Pitch,' then you and I have something in common with its star (assuming you're reading this in Minnesota, that is), as the actor who plays the main character also calls the Land of 10,000 Lakes home.

That's right, according to this Pioneer Press story, Kylie Bunbury is a Prior Lake, Minnesota native. Well, okay, the story says she was born in Canada and also lived briefly in both England and Portugal before her family settled down in Prior Lake-- but that's the place she considers "home," the story said.

The story goes on to say that Bunbury went to high school in Prior Lake, and that's also where she played basketball and soccer and ran track, the story noted. Which all serves her well starring in the show, 'Pitch.'

That's because 'Pitch' is a fictitious look at the first female player to make it in Major League Baseball-- playing for the San Diego Padres. The story noted the show is being produced in partnership with MLB, so it should be a pretty realistic look at how professional baseball works, both on and off the field. It looks pretty good. It'll air Thursdays at 8 p.m. on Fox. And, it's cool to know the star knows her way around the Twin Cities!
