Staying TRUE to the legend – Tribute Artist Willie’s Shadow! [VIDEO]

Recorded at the home of Alan Kohl (aka: Willie's Shadow) in Waupun, WI on a recent WI road trip.

This is the third video of a four week series of video's & posts highlighting an old high school buddy by the name of Alan Kohl, and his Willie Nelson tribute act, Willie's Shadow. I was able to capture four videos that I want to share with your here at Quick Country.

Recently on a Wisconsin road trip to visit family members prior to Christmas, I had the distinct pleasure of reconnecting with an old high school buddy from my Alma-mater in Beaver Dam, WI.

His name is Alan Kohl and he now resides in Waupun, WI. Locals know him as ‘Willie’, or more accurately, Willie’s Shadow. Immediately, he was recognized as we walked into a local tavern to reminisce over a cold-one.

Alan is a long-time guitarist who most recently decided it was time to incorporate his voice into the mix. After the dust settled, and after many hours of working-up a repertroire of songs, and playing LIVE in many local area watering holes, private parties, and civic events, Alan’s Willie Nelson tribute act was born!

After leaving the tavern a quickly arranged solo performance in the comfortable confines of his home In ‘Prison City’ (Waupun, WI) made me his only audience on this evening. He played & sang a number of Willie Nelson standards with unmistakable accuracy and passion. I was the lucky one with a camera in hand and able to capture a number video’s.
