The man fled but a patrol officer later spotted him inside the Holiday store near St. Marys Hospital and took him into custody. The man was identified as 20-year-old Anthony Hemphill of Rochester, who is being held on robbery and assault charges.

Although he had possession of the victim’s debit card, Hemphill denied robbing the man. When told he was seen on surveillance video in the vicinity of the robbery he told investigators he “must have been sleepwalking.”
