Byron, MN (KROC AM News) - An area teenager who twice led an Olmsted County deputy on a chase Saturday night in the southwest part of the county was finally apprehended.

A spokesman says the teenager ran a stop sign and was speeding in Byron when the deputy went after him. The teen drove through the sign stop at the intersection of Highway 14 and County Road 3, nearly colliding with an approaching vehicle.

He headed south to the Salem Corners area and the deputy broke off the pursuit but kept following the teen. The deputy caught up with the teen again several miles away and tried to pull him over. Instead, the teen sped off again.

The deputy later located him after the teen’s vehicle apparently broke down.

Arrested was 18-year old Nicholas Douglas of Houston.
