St, Paul, MN (KROC-AM News) - Law enforcement agencies throughout Minnesota reported making almost 500 drunk driving arrests during the Thanksgiving holiday travel period.

The State Office of Traffic Safety says the total from Wednesday night through early Monday was 490. In 2016, the State Patrol and several hundred local law enforcement officers reported 440 DWI arrests statewide during the Thanksgiving crackdown, while the total in 2015 was 468.

The busiest day of the year for officers participating in the enhanced enforcement campaign targeting impaired drivers was Saturday when they made 133 arrests.
