While we're usually known for our cold and snowy weather here in southeast Minnesota, right? But once again, it was more tropical here... than it was in the tropics!

That's right, according to the current conditions from The Weather Channel on Wednesday morning, both our temperature and our dew point readings here in Rochester were both much higher than those in Rio de Janeiro-- which, given it's location in South America, could reasonably be considered the "tropics."

When you look screen shots from yesterday morning, Rochester's temperature was 81 degrees with dew point of 74 degrees. That gave us a 'feels like' temperature of 88 degrees.

Meanwhile, down in Rio, everybody at the Summer Olympic Games were enjoying a temperature of 73 degree with a dew point of a mere 63 degrees. That gave Rio a 'feels like' temperature of only 72 degrees-- with way less humidity!

Now, in the interest of fairness, we're smack dab in the middle of another abnormally hot and humid stretch of weather. It's not usually this humid in our neck of the woods. (And I don't know about you, but I'm pretty much over all this humidity!)

But it's kinda cool to say that, yeah, it's hotter in Rochester than it is down on the Copacabana Beach in Rio, isn't it?
