According to the folks at HomeSnacks.net, they compiled their list by examining these factors:

  1. Population density (Higher is better)
  2. Lots of single people
  3. Lots of people without kids
  4. Lots of places to meet people*
    * Including coffee shops, bars, restaurants and churches per capita.

So what did they find? Well, overall, we lead the nation in the number of people married, and are third from the bottom on remarrying if we do get divorced. So where are the best cities to find a date? Check it out:

The 10 Best Cities For Dating In Minnesota

  1. Minneapolis
  2. Mankato
  3. Duluth
  4. Winona
  5. Roseville
  6. Burnsville
  7. Rochester
  8. Austin
  9. Moorhead
  10. Bloomington

So the Med City checks in at #7 in the state. Not too shabby. Here's what the survey said about our fair city: "Sadly, almost half of the population in Rochester is married. But, the good news is there are almost as many bars, restaurants, coffee shops and churches, per capita, here in Rochester than in Minneapolis. So, your chances of meeting people is really high, even though lots have rings on already. It’s a numbers game, people."

Overall, southeastern Minnesota seems to be a hot spot for singles. Winona and Austin also show up in the study's top 10! Are you a single person living in the area? What do you think? Would you agree?
