I see it all the time. Sadly, at restaurants where families don't even connect with each other anymore. Parents shove an electronic game in their face to keep them occupied. I see a lot of kids that don't even know how to hold a conversation.- Alan

According to a story from the UK's Daily Mail website, many adults spend more hours of the day using laptops and phones than they do asleep.

People spend an average of 8 hours and 21 minutes sleeping a day, but they spend an average of 8 hours and 41 minutes on various technological devices.

80 percent of smartphone users have their phones on at all times, and four in 10 adults and teens said there were times they checked their phone in the middle of the night.

They also spend more time each morning checking emails and using the internet than eating breakfast or taking care of their appearance.

Experts have warned this increase in technology use means that people are not getting enough quality sleep, which has a direct effect on their health.
