With the weather forecast calling for the coolest overnight temperatures we've seen since the spring, here are some of the best things about our upcoming fall weather.

1) Sweatshirts -- I love being able to bust out all my favorite hoodies, many that have been safely tucked away on a shelf in my closet since spring And, this time of year is great for wearing a sweatshirt with shorts, too. (My wife thinks it's odd that I do this, but I love it!)

2) Great sleeping weather -- With low temperatures in the 40's this morning and a similar forecast for tonight, it feels great to have to shut the bedroom window a bit, instead of keeping it wide open and running the ceiling fan on high, like we had to do all summer. Thanks, fall weather, for the great sleeping weather!

3) Bringing out the blankets -- We have a couple of different fleece blankets my wife and I will grab and toss on while we're parked in front of the TV in the evening. But, it's been so warm and humid this past summer, we haven't even had them out since last winter. But we'll probably get them out and cuddle up in them tonight!

4) Another cup of coffee -- While I'm an admitted coffee junkie anyway and still down a couple cups each morning even in the middle of a summer heatwave, a nice, warm cup of coffee just seems to taste better in crips, cool fall weather. And that's not even tapping into the pumpkin spice craze that's out there! (And while I'm not overly nuts about it, I do enjoy buying some of the PSL-flavored creamer each year.)

5) Having a fire in the fireplace -- Now, I might be pushing this a bit, seeing as its only mid-September and I'm not even sure we'll do this tonight, but having a fire in our fireplace is always a cool thing about fall. Seeing as we have an enclosed gas fireplace, it's not as much of a to-do as building a real wood fire is, but the first fire of the season is always something cool about fall.
