From the Daily Mail, researchers say towels could be the worst culprits for spreading bugs around your house.

And its not just kitchen towels that are to blame - bath towels can also spread diseases.

The problem is towels retain moisture for long periods of time, allowing the bacteria to survive. On top of that, they are used in the most germ-ridden areas of the house.

A study found coliform bacteria in 89 percent of kitchen towels and E. coli in 25 percent of towels.

Don’t think the washing machine is the answer either… another study found bacteria can survive washing and drying with detergent.
