I've had some odd cuts and scrapes over the years, but this swell cut I'm sporting on my forehead right now was sustained in an, uh, odd manner.

I've had plenty of odd injuries over the year, from that time I cut my finger (and needed stitches) from the sharp hubcap edge of the a car I was washing, to slipping on the garage floor and whacking my wrist on a ladder when I fell (I ended up going to the ER and walked out with my wrist in a cast for 6 weeks after that one.)

Two years ago, I wiped out on my mountain bike after crossing the Cascade Creek bridge (which was wet) in Kutzky Park and had a pretty good case of road rash on my arms and legs (and part of my chin, too). But I got this cut... from our pressure washer.

But not while it was in use. My wife and I were out pressure washing our house Sunday, and had the washer hooked up on our backyard deck. Our deck doesn't have any stairs, so to avoid having to walk all the way around through the house to get the washer after we were done, I thought it'd be easier to just lower it over the side of the deck.

Which is what my wife did. Just let it go and I'll catch it, I said. So she did. And, sure enough, I did catch it. But as I caught the base of the washer, the handle snapped around and smacked me in the forehead. Which resulted in that lovely gash you see there now.

It actually looks worse than it was. Fortunately, it wasn't a very deep cut and didn't bleed too much. So, after cleaning it out and applying some first aid ointment, it was easy to keep it covered with a band-aid. Hopefully, it won't take too long until it's healed.

But it still looks kinda creepy, doesn't it? What's the weirdest way you've ever injured yourself?
