I've been filling in for Alan Reed all week on the Quick Country Morning Show. And while I've been trying not to screw things up too much, this also means I'm in my car, navigating the streets at around 4am, on my way to the Townsquare Media communications complex in downtown Rochester. While it might be early, it's a peaceful time to be driving-- mainly because you have the roads all to yourself!

So, this morning, on my way in, I noticed the combination of a little freezing fog along

with a very light dusting of snow that fell overnight made the trees and shrubs at our place look all frosted and Christmasy (which, of course, isn't a real word). They were really cool. Unfortunately, I'm not much of a photographer, but I did snap a couple pictures, which you can see on the left.

I also pulled over just after I turned onto 4th Ave this morning to snap a quick pic of the Christmas tree, created by the green and red lights on the south windows of the Plummer Building. I LOVE this, and am glad Mayo brought it back again, after what I've been told

was quite an absence. It sure adds a festive touch to downtown Rochester, on one of Mayo Clinic's most iconic buildings!
