When you think of ALL the companies that exist these days, being singled out as one of the top 50 organizations in the entire world is a pretty big honor. Fortune's 2019 list of the World's Most Admired Companies was released Tuesday, and three companies based here in the Land of 10,000 Lakes made the cut.

The list was compiled, Fortune said, by a team of 3,750 executives, analysts, directors and experts. They put Apple at number-one on the list, repeating their performance from last year.

Meanwhile, Minnesota's highest-ranking company on Fortune's Most-Admired List is still 3M, which came in at #27 this year-- though it's down six spots from last year. However, Minnesota's Target moved up six spots from last year to come in at #32. And, new to the top 50 this year is Minnesota's United Healthcare, which sneaked in at #46-- which is pretty good, considering they weren't on the list last year.

And, BringMeTheNews says several other Minnesota companies, while not cracking the top 50, were still singled out as 'industry leaders,' including Best Buy, Fastenal, General Mills, U.S. Bancorp., and Xcel Energy.

Not bad, Minnesota! You can check out the entire list HERE.
