The crows are back in Rochester. Yipee! There are a couple things you can count on every fall. The Vikings begin their mid season collapse, there's a lot less road construction and the crows come home to Rochester.

I think the city of Rochester has been trying for years to eradicate them but nothing is working. Now, there's a brand new apartment building just down the street from the station and the crows have decided that it belongs to them now. Can you imagine living there? The noise and the dead fish/crow poop smell. Ugh.

Apparently they had the same problem in Sunnyside, Washington and they gave the police force, "fireworks inside a pistol shell" and called them "bird bombs." It's a non-lethal way to get rid of the crows. Maybe try something like that. I know, easier said than done. But there has to be something that can be done. I think it's safe to say the other things they have been doing, like tying what looks like aluminum strips to tree branches is not working.

Our Digital Managing Editor Frank, took this video last night. Hundreds and hundreds of crows, every night.

I do know that if THIS was out my window at night, I wouldn't want to live there.
