It's one of my favorite shows. It's set to kick-off its third season later this fall. And one of the main characters is from right here in Rochester!

Which show is it? It's 'Life In Pieces,' and it's a really funny comedy that airs on CBS on Thursdays at 8:30. And one of its stars, Dan Bakkedahl, was born here in the Med City!

The show centers on the Short family, their three grown children (and their children) and how they all get along-- or don't. According to the CBS website, "'Life In Pieces' is a comedy about one big happy family and their sometimes awkward, often hilarious and ultimately beautiful milestone moments as told by its various members."

Bakkedahl plays a dentist who's married to the Short's only daughter. And, yes, he was born right here in Rochester. According to his cast bio, though, while he was born here, he actually grew up in Florida. He went to St. Cloud State here in Minnesota, but "completed his studies at Florida State."

You might also know him from “Veep” on HBO. And, he's also appeared in a ton of other shows, too, like “Legit,” “The Goldbergs,” “Gotham,” “30 Rock,” “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” “The Mindy Project,” “The United States of Tara” and “Community.”

My wife and I first watched it a couple of season ago and really liked it-- which, we were sure, meant that it'd most likely be cancelled. But it was renewed for a second season last year, and for a third this year.

But, new episodes aren't premiering in September, though-- the site says its fall premiere won't happen until Thursday, November 2nd.
