Throwback Thursday: My Big 80’s Hairbrush

What's better than a Throwback Thursday picture of something from the 80's... that you're actually still using?

Yes, it occurred to me the other day as I was cleaning this little beauty, that I've been using this same brush for probably the past 25 years-- if not longer. You can tell the brush is old just by its classic 80's purple color along with the vintage 80's Vidal Sassoon logo on the grey handle.

I don't remember where or when I bought this brush, but I think it's safe to say it was back in the day when I had significantly more hair-- which was most likely in the form of a classic 80's mullet. (Don't judge; it's pretty much what we all did by then.) My hair was a cross between David Hasselhoff and Kirk Cameron's 80's hairdos. It needed a brush that could tame the massive waves and curls.

This Vidal Sassoon number answered the call back then, and has continued to be up for the challenge each morning for the next 26 or 27 years. Not that a brush has all that many parts to wear out, mind you, but you'd think I'd have lost it on one of the many trips I've taken over the years. That's a lot of being put in the travel kit and being taken out again.

But no, that 80's-era brush is still in my bathroom, ready to be used each morning-- even if there's much less hair on my head to brush these days. (And, thankfully, it's not in mullet-form anymore.)
