Throwback Thursday: Shania Twain’s First Hit

She's heading back to Minneapolis this weekend, when her 'Rock This Country' tour hits Target Center. Yes, Shania Twain will be back in the Land of 10,000 Lakes Saturday. But do you remember which song was her very first hit?

Well, if you cast your mind back over 20 years ago, to January 1995, you might remember this song. It would go on to be not only Shania's first hit, but her first number-one hit, too-- and would set her on her way to huge stardom in music.

I remember playing this song when I worked at a country station back in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. And, then a year or so later, we'd heard rumors that Shania and her husband at the time, Mutt Lange, had purchased land near River Falls. That rumor turned out to be false. But the song still brings back memories from back then.
