Throwback Thursday: This Song Was #1 21 Years Ago

Seeing as it's Thursday, here's a throwback to the number-one country song from this date back in 1994 by Mary Chapin Carpenter.

Yes, 'Shut Up and Kiss Me' went to the top of the Billboard country charts 21 years ago, on November 19th, 1994. I was working at a country station back in Wisconsin at the time, and remember playing this song from Mary's 'Stones in the Road' CD. It would go on to win the Grammy award for Best Female Country Vocal Performance.

Mary did this song in a very cool, acoustic performance earlier this October right here in Rochester at Mayo Civic Center. It sounded a little different than the album version, but it was still an incredible performance by one of my favorite artists. Do you remember this one?
