I was out in California a little over a week ago when news broke that the Timberwolves' Flip Saunders had passed away. Since then, there have been several tributes to the team's president and coach. But this one might be the most unique I've seen.

According to a KARE-11 story, it's a tribute to Saunders made entirely of...tree leaves. And it's on display through today, to celebrate the Wolves home opener tonight. The story goes on to say that the leaf tribute was created by Übergrün, a group of Twin Cities eco-artists, and will be on display next to the Nicollet Island Pavilion through Monday. (I wonder how they're keeping all the leaves in place, seeing as mine tend to blow all over our-- and our neighbors'-- yard...)
