This year's Minnesota State Fair may have ended a week ago, but over the weekend the Today Show put the Land of 10,000 Lakes back in the national spotlight.

2018 has been a pretty good year when it comes to showcasing some of the many things we all know and love about Minnesota. Super Bowl LII put us here in the Bold North on the national stage for almost two weeks back in February.

Much like last year when NBC's Al Roker made an appearance on opening day, this year's Minnesota State Fair also made its way into the national media. Once again, it was NBC that sent a correspondent to check out our Great Minnesota Get-Together.

Veteran journalist, Harry Smith, who these days reports for the NBC's 'Today,' made an appearance during the middle of this year's run of the state fair, becoming one of the over 2-million visitors-- the most ever-- to this year's fair.

And while Harry was actually in Minnesota well over a week ago, his report on his visit to the Land of 10,000 Lakes-- and the food-- at the Minnesota State Fair just aired over the weekend. Check it out and see if you agree with Harry's assessments of the various state fair staples. (He seemed a little underwhelmed by the Mini Donut Beer-- which is my FAVORITE thing at the fair!)
