A clip surfaced a few years ago from 1994 of then-Today Show anchors Katie Couric and Bryant Gumbel fumbling around while attempting to read something called an 'email address' on the air. At one point, Bryant asks, "What is 'Internet'?" Well, that clip is back, spoofed in a new commercial for BMW that's set to air during the Super Bowl.

The original clip seems woefully outdated and funny now, given how much a part of our lives both email, and the Internet, in general, are these days. You can read the entire story behind the clip HERE. But I very much identified with their puzzlement just 21 years ago.

I remember being a senior at UW-Eau Claire in the fall of 1992 when the school assigned everyone their own email address. Back then, though, I didn't know the difference between a web address and an email address. My, how times have changed. It makes me wonder just what technology lies down the road in 2036 -- just 21 years from now!
