Minneapolis, MN(KROC AM News) - The National Weather Service office in Minneapolis received numerous reports of tornadoes and funnel clouds in southern Minnesota Sunday night, including a few that touched down.

Most of the reports were between 7:30 and 8:30 p.m. and came from Blue Earth, Faribault and Waseca counties.

The touchdowns or possible touchdowns were reported in or near the towns of Bricelyn, Delavan and Minnesota Lake.

Power lines were reported down in New Richland, where there were numerous reports of a funnel cloud.

The Weather Service received additional reports of some downed trees but no other damage or injuries.

The storm system also produced strong winds in parts of Freeborn County, something a truckdriver found out the hard way.

The State Patrol says 68 year old James Heser of Sioux Falls was driving his big rig on eastbound I-90 around 8:30 Sunday night when a strong gust blew his trailer into the roadside ditch. Heser’s truck ended up rolling into the median. He was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
