Turnovers Hurt Mayo in State Tournament Loss to Hopkins
Minneapolis, MN (KROC AM News) -Top-seeded Hopkins defeated Mayo 62-35 Tuesday in the opening round of the Class 4A Girl's State High School Basketball tournament at Target Center.
Hopkins led for nearly the entire game and scored 35 points on 39 turnovers to advance to the semi-finals against Shakopee Thursday evening. Anna Winter led the Spartans with 12 points and 5 rebounds, while Olivia Korngable scored 6 points with 3 assists and four steals and Grace Riley was credited with 5 points for Mayo.
