Looks like the Minnesota Twins' Joe Mauer will be spending some time packing up boxes and renting a moving truck, as he just bought a new home on Lake Minnetonka in Minneapolis-- and he paid cash for it, too.

Of course, when your most recent contract with your employer was worth $184 million, as Mauer's most recent deal with the Twins was, paying $6 million for a house isn't all that much, I guess. And, it's not surprising, either, that he was able to pay for the plush new digs with cash, too.

That's right. He paid for it... in cash. Can you imagine that?!? According to BringMeTheNews, "Joe Mauer took out his wallet in June and paid $6.2 million in cash for a Woodland home on Lake Minnetonka," the story said.

The home is pretty good size, too, the story said, coming it at 6,500 square feet, with five bedrooms, seven bathrooms and a four-car or more garage. It's located on  "3.1 acres, with 115 feet of shoreline on the south side of Wayzata Bay in Woodland," the story noted.

The story also said the Mauers (that'd be Joe, his wife, Maddie and their twin daughters) probably won't use the new home as their primary residence, seeing as they already have a multi-million dollar home on Sunfish Lake that they bought back in 2012. That one's 'only' worth $1.75 million, according to Dakota County tax records.
