Tyler Farr got thousands of festival-goers on their feet Thursday evening (June 16) at the 2016 Country Jam in Grand Junction, Colo. His hour-long (and some change) set included songs about heartache, revenge and friendship, among others, and two songs in which he wouldn't let the crowd sit back and relax.

"I'm going to be honest with y'all. I hate damn seats, especially white ones," he said after playing rowdy set opener "C.O.U.N.T.R.Y." to a crowd seated in white plastic chairs. "You know what that means? I hate people sitting. See that guy in the flannel? Someone kiss him. That guy needs to be kissed."

Referring to one of few men in the audience dancing along to his set, Farr told the crowd they needed to get up on their feet, and they more than obliged.

Highlights during his set included the heartfelt "Whiskey in My Water," the fun "Ain't Even Drinkin'" and previous his single "Better in Boots." The latter fittingly had several couples dancing along in the aisles.

Despite suffering with bus troubles earlier in the day, Farr was in good spirits throughout his energetic set.

"Y'all have one of my favorite things and that's trout," he told the Colorado audience before he thought of one more of his favorite things: "And country girls in cowboy boots."

Ballads like the heartbreaking "Hello Goodbye" and unique "Withdrawals" showcased Farr's vocal power, but after playing each, he was tired of the sadness.

"Enough of that sappy crap. We grow up, we move on and we do bigger and better things," he said. And with that he began to sing "Redneck Crazy," which had him conducting the audience in a singalong.

An energetic set by Farr, his intensity made its way into the audience, no doubt much to the singer's appreciation.

"Y'all are the reason that I love my job. I'm going to keep doing this until they kick me out of Nashville, Tennessee," he said before he closed his show — an opening set for headliner Lee Brice — with his first No. 1 hit, "A Guy Walks Into a Bar."

By the looks of the crowd Thursday night, Farr won't be leaving Nashville anytime soon. Country Jam runs through Sunday (June 19) in Grand Junction, Colo.
