Val: ‘A Love Letter To My New Snakeskin Boots’

A good boot can empower you. A good boot can make you feel like you're in control of at least one aspect of your life. If it's got a nice heel, it can literally make you stand taller with more confidence. Can the design of a boot affect you too?

Before I go too far into my new boots, you should know that they are not real snakeskin. I can't afford that – LOL! Also, real snakeskin isn’t for me.

Now that that's out of the way, let's talk about that empowering feeling you can get when you're wearing the right boot.

Last week, I mentioned that I love wearing booties in the fall. I'm not alone in my love for them either. In the US, footwear alone is an 83 million dollar business. Booties alone are seen on the shelves and online most commonly year round. I love them so much that I wanted to write this love letter to my newest pair from Just Fab.

Dear new snakeskin boots,

You're not "real" snakeskin, but you're real to me. Your design is so natural because we see your pattern in the wild, and yet, you're so rock n' roll too. I bet that's why thousands of rock and country songs have mentioned you before. Even George Thorogood has famously mentioned you.

When I look at you, I'm reminded that it's okay to be my wild and natural self. Don't tell me leopard booties this, but you look more natural than them.
