Chatfield, MN (KROC AM News) -The Minnesota State Patrol has released the name of the young man who was killed in a Thanksgiving Day crash near Rochester.

Officials say 24-year-old Casey Beach of Byron was behind the wheel of a car that crossed over the center-line on Highway 52 and collided head-on with an SUV. Witnesses reported seeing the northbound car cross the center-line several times before the deadly collision occurred just north of Chatfield around 10 AM.

The road was wet at the time, but it does not appear the weather was a contributing factor.

A 32-year-old Eagan woman in the SUV was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while a 33-year-old man and an infant in the vehicle were not hurt.

The State Patrol says a 27-year-old St. Louis Park man ended up crashing his car into the ditch when he came up on the crash and swerved to avoid the wrecked vehicles. He was also treated for non-life threatening injuries.
