Yesterday, I wondered why people bothered with taking videos with their phones at live concerts, seeing as the sound is almost always distorted and the picture is usually shaky and out of focus. I also wondered if anybody ever watched those videos again. I know I wouldn't. But there is ONE video on my phone I've watched...

It's nothing too exciting, mind you, and it isn't of a live concert. There isn't anyone in the video I'm close to; in fact, there's no one in the video at all. So what is it? It's about 30 seconds of the Atlantic Ocean, as the waves come ashore on the beach in Corolla, North Carolina. I took it last September when we were staying on the Outer Banks. Never having stayed right on the ocean before, I was transfixed by the calming nature of the sea as the waves crashed on the shore. I still watch it from time to time to remind me of how peaceful it was there-- and so I can wish, longingly, that I was there again. Need a little calming influence? Check it out...
