Have you ever seen what downtown Rochester looks like... from a drone?

You have now, thanks to this cool video from Rochester resident, AJ Montpetit. According to his Kickstarter page, he's attempting to "bring the first website with completely free video footage all shot from a drone!"

Montpetit is hoping to raise $3,000 by October 25th so he can fund his site, and purchase the necessary equipment, including a drone, and 4K GoPro. It looks pretty interesting, but can just anyone fly a drone in the sky over the downtown area of a city?

Montpetit has checked it out, and says, "In the state of Minnesota there are currently no prohibitions for flying a hobby drone and filming content. I want to capture the beauty of my state and share it with the world to use. Privacy is always my biggest concern. I have researched local city and county ordinances and plan to make sure all local authorities are aware of what I am doing before I film."

It looks pretty cool. I hope he reaches his goal. Check it out here...

Although, his drone footage of the Med City isn't the first, however. Check out this video from 2014 that has some cool footage of Silver Lake and the downtown Rochester skyline...
