Minneapolis, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Minnesota Vikings have announced the signing of Caledonia High School standout Isaac Fruechte.

The former Minnesota Gopher wide receiver played on two State High School Champion teams before starting his college career at RCTC. He transferred to the University of Minnesota as a sophomore and played in 38 games for the Gophers over three seasons.

Fruechte was named the Gophers’ Wide Receiver of the Year as a senior after he racked up 292 receiving yards and scored a touchdown this past season.

The Vikings say the team now has four Minnesota natives on the roster: cornerback Marcus Sherels of Rochester, wide receiver Adam Thielen of Detroit Lakes and tackle Carter Bykowski of Eden Prairie.
