Have you heard about the western sport known as Skojoring? If you haven’t, let me tell you right now: You are in for a treat. Because this looks awesome, and I am fully on board.

Skijoring is a combination of horse riding, skiing, and jumping. Basically, it’s like water skiing, except it’s in the winter and you’re being pulled by a horse.

How. Amazing. Is. That.

I want to go Skijoring yesterday.

The cool thing is that “Extreme Horse Skijoring” will be a new event at Canterbury Park. A skier will be pulled by a horse at speeds of 20 to 30 miles per hour as they go through a racetrack filled with jumps and other obstacles. Sign me up!

Extreme Horse Skijoring is going down this Saturday at Canterbury Park from 1PM to 4PM. If you get there early, you can check out the practice sessions starting at 9AM. Tickets are $10 for adults, but it’s free for ages 17 and below. That’s a pretty solid deal. More info here.
