What Was Up With Those Dancers During Jennifer Nettles’ Performance?

Like many of us, I enjoyed watching the CMA Country Christmas special Monday night. But I found one thing a little distracting. Did you too?

Now, I'll admit that my wife and I were switching between the Packers/Eagles game on Monday Night Football, the live performances on 'The Voice,' and the CMA Country Christmas special, so it's entirely possible I missed the introduction to this particular performance.

It happened during Jennifer Nettles' and Idina Menzel's performance of 'The Little Drummer Boy.' It was a pretty cool arrangement, and both singers were really knocking it out of the park. But about a third of the way through the song, a young boy, an accomplished acrobat, apparently, started doing some type of dance moves on top of a giant drum.

I'm sure he was really good-- as were the other dancers who later joined him on stage-- but their dance routine, performed behind Jennifer and Idina as they sang, seemed a little distracting to me. In fact, my wife and I both commented that it almost seemed like one of those old Chris Farley routines from Saturday Night Live.
