How does the average income in Rochester compare to other cities around the state and country? The website, Department of Numbers, crunched numbers from the 2016 Census survey and found that Rochester incomes are higher.

The most recent data shows the average American worker makes $31,128 a year. In Minnesota the average annual income is $34,515. Rochester's average income is $35,471 which is almost $1,000 more than the state average. To make $35,471 a person would have to work 40 hours a week and earn $17.05 an hour.

City-data.com also has a ton of useful information on incomes. They break it down by age, race and even family size. Their report from 2016 says the median household income in Rochester was $67,712 compared to the state average of $65,599.
