The National Insurance Crime Bureau just released its annual 'Hot Wheels' report, which runs down the 10 most-stolen vehicles in the U.S. last year. So just which car is the most stolen here in the Land of 10,000 Lakes?

According to a KARE-11 story, the most stolen car here in the North Star State is the Honda Accord. There were just over 800 Accords stolen here in Minnesota in 2014. So how'd they come up with that figure?

The story says, "The report uses vehicle theft data submitted by law enforcement to the National Crime Information Center and determines the vehicle make, model and model year of vehicles reported stolen."

So it's a Honda Accord that's stolen the most in Minnesota. I wouldn't have guessed that; I'd have thought a more luxury-type model, like a BMW or Mercedes would have topped the list. Shows you what I know.

I'm glad my SUV isn't the Most Stolen Vehicle in Minnesota-- it's one less thing I have to worry about. Of course, my SUV, while being one of the best cars I've ever owned, is now 8 years old and has 120,000 miles on it. So even if that model was one that was frequently stolen, I'm guessing my particular SUV still wouldn't be a huge target for car thieves.
