You know what a Mom-ism is, right? It's all those things mom used to tell us all the time when we were kids. And while we probably didn't want to hear it then, as it turns out, those little nuggets of wisdom  were usually pretty spot on.

This site has a list of some of the best Mom-isms of all time. See if you remember hearing any of these -- or if you've said any of these to your kids:

Because I said so, that's why!

If you make that face for too long, it will stay like that.

Life isn't fair, get over it.

Go ask your Dad.

When I was your age...

Now, because I was such a model son (cough, cough, cough), my mom didn't have to say many of these Mom-isms to me. But I do remember her echoing a phrase that my grandma had said to her, mainly when she (or I) was worried that someone would be upset with some sort of change, or if someone was mad at us. Here it is:

"They'll just have to get glad again!"

And the older I get, the more I find myself enjoying that phrase. It's really a different form of "Don't sweat the small stuff," and how you ought not to let someone else's unrealistic expectations drag you down. I've found myself uttering that Mom-ism often throughout the years.

Do you have a favorite Mom-ism your mom used to say?
