Why is Friday the 13th Considered Unlucky?

You might have seen it coming if you glanced at the calendar-- Friday the 13th! But have you ever wondered just why Friday the 13th is considered unlucky?

Are you superstitious? I don't really pay attention to many superstitions. Black cats can cross my path and I don't care, and I'm pretty sure I walked under a later under the scaffolding outside the steam plant along 2nd Ave. across from the Hilton Building earlier this year. The number 13 doesn't bother me, either, and Friday? I mean, come on-- who doesn't like Friday?!?
