Yet another story was released today involving a kid, a bus and another driver. It could have had a much different ending like that tragic story out of Indiana where 3 kids were killed last month. Fortunately, the little girl from Byron is okay - physically. Now, I could just shrug it off and go on with my day, but I have to ask, why is stopping for a school bus SO confusing for people?

The school bus has its stop sign out and lights flashing, you stop!

  • In what world do you NOT have to stop at a stop sign? Seriously!
  • Is it because you don't have to stop for city buses? City buses don't have a stop sign and lights like the school bus - nice try.
  • Is it because you are on your phone? Here's a thought - PUT THE D*** PHONE DOWN!
  • Are you in that much of a hurry? Nothing, I repeat, nothing is more important than those kids' lives.

I'm not trying to shame anyone specifically, I just truly feel that we need a reminder every once in a while. It's a good reason to talk to your kids, whether they are the ones on the bus or behind the wheel of a car.
