Oronoco, MN (KROC AM News) - Several law officers were involved in a wild 15 mile long chase Wednesday that began and ended in the Oronoco area.

Olmsted County Sheriff Kevin Torgerson says the chase began around 5:15 p.m. when authorities received a tip about a stolen pickup truck in Oronoco. He says a state trooper was nearby and tried to make a traffic stop but the driver of the stolen truck took off. The chase - which included several State Patrol troopers and Olmsted County deputies -  moved into Goodhue County and then back to near Oronoco.

Torgerson says the driver of the truck then crashed into two State Patrol vehicles and ended up in a field along County Road 12 on the northeast side of Oronoco. One of the troopers fired several shots at the truck and that’s when the driver and a female passenger decided to surrender.

The two - 25 year old David Collier and 23 year old Courtney Archer - were taken into custody and are expected to be arraigned tomorrow.

Torgerson says there were no injuries.

An Oronoco business owner almost became a victim of the chase. He says the driver of the stolen vehicle drove into his parking lot and adjoining property and nearly collided with some of his parked motorhomes and campers before speeding off with the officers in pursuit.
