Willie Nelson Headed to Minnesota This Summer

He's a country music icon, a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame, and he's headed here to Minnesota this summer.

He's the legendary Willie Nelson. And he'll be playing live in Minnesota this summer, June 9th at Treasure Island Resort and Casino in Red Wing.

According to a release, Willie Nelson and Family will be playing a special outdoor show at The Island, along with the Charlie Daniels Band and Bruce Hornsby. (Remember the song 'The Way It Is' from the 80's-- that's Bruce's!)

I once had the pleasure of having lunch with Willie during a radio conference in Minneapolis. He was playing at Country Jam in Eau Claire, WI that weekend, and flew into the Twin Cities on a Friday morning.

He seemed like a really cool guy. Turns out he loves to golf, too-- almost as much as he loves to light up the 'ol wacky weed.  (Which, by the way, he said, he's been doing for a LONG time. He said he remembered being a kid back in Texas, and attempting to smoke just about anything he could get his hands on-- leaves, twigs, etc.)
