That's right, the Minnesota DNR announced earlier this week that they're soliciting designs for a new State Parks and Trails license plate. The new plate, with the winning design, is set to be released in the fall.

According to the DNR release, "We’re looking for an image that captures the essence of Minnesota state parks and trails,” said Erika Rivers, director of the Parks and Trails Division at the Department of Natural Resources. “These special places have been around for 125 years, and purchasing the new license plates will be a great way to show everyone on the road that you ‘go the extra mile’ to support them.”

Entries will only be accepted from May 2nd until May 4th and will then be judged upon several criteria, "such as creativity, quality, representation of Minnesota state parks and trails and suitability as a license plate image."

You can get all the entry information, including complete contest rules, on the DNR's website HERE.
