After a successful run for the 2019 Governor's Fishing opener in Albert Lea, the tide will head up to the great north of Minnesota.

Otter Tail County will play host to the 2020 opener where Governor Tim Walz will head to kick off the official fishing opener for Minnesota, May 8th - 10th.

The Governor was not skunked this year, but his lieutenant governor, Peggy Flanagan did end up catching more fish than him, but he plans to get her back for the pheasant opener in Austin this fall.

Of course, fishing is in the blood of Minnesotans as many different people took to the lake to give their try for this year. Next year, those will head up to Otter Tail County to take on the waters in 2020.
