8 Sure Signs You Grew Up in Minnesota
Whether you grew up skipping rocks on the river, swimming on the North shore, or running around in the hustle and bustle of the twin cities life, we all have these eight things in common that truly reveal our deep roots in the Land of 10,000 Lakes.
From the frequent "it wouldn't be so cold if it weren't for the wind" remarks on those bone-chilling 20-below days, to a profound affection for hotdish, to our "Minnesota Nice" attitude. Here are the 8 sure signs you grew up in Minnesota.
1. It takes you at least a half hour to say goodbye.
Oh yes, the good ol' Minnesota goodbye - 14 hugs and 17 "well, I should get goings" later...
2. You are STILL a die-hard Minnesota sports fan...
Year after year we are sent to heart break city. The letdown is VERY real, but our love for the home team stands strong am I right?
3. You break out the shorts and flip flops at the first sign of spring
Snow shmow! The first sign of spring feels like heaven after our long, cold winters. The Uggs get put away and the flip flops come out to play.

4. You remember when it was called Camp Snoopy
Of course I'm talking about what Nickelodeon Universe USED to be known as. Not going to lie, I still call the roller coaster above the Pepsi coaster.
5. You will argue tooth and nail that it's Duck, Duck, Gray Duck!
You have definitely played and will always and forever call it "Duck, Duck, Gray Duck." The other 49 states are wrong with their "Duck, Duck, Goose."
6. People give you crap for your accent when you travel
"Oh, you're from Minnesooota aye? Tell me all a-boot it." Never fails.
7. You buy costumes several sizes too large to make sure a coat will "comfortably" fit underneath
A warm Halloween evening? Yeah, not in Minnesota. Remember the Halloween snowstorm of 1991? If so, you might be from Minnesota. ;)
8. You've definitely had something crazy fried on a stick
You've sweat your butt off at the Great Minnesota Get Together and filled up on your share of deep fried goodies - from fried candy to fried soup on a stick and everything in between.
