Astounding Attractions Await in this One Incredible Wisconsin Home

I still can't believe that this place even exists and that all of these wild attractions exist under one roof! This is a place in Spring Green, Wisconsin called The House on the Rock. It's a home that's literally built on top of a chimney of rock and even extends over the edge. That part of the home is obviously one of the crazy attractions.

The home was built by a guy named Alex Jordan and the project, according to the home's website, started in 1945. Finally, in 1960 the home opened for the public to tour. I had assumed that Alex wanted to build the home just for himself but from what I can tell with the information on the website, it seems like it was always meant to be an attraction to the public.

Infinity Room

First, let's talk about that part of the house that extends over the edge of the rock. It's called the Infinity Room. It extended 218 feet over the edge and over the valley below. Of course, there are tons of windows so as long as you're not afraid of heights this would provide quite the views.

World's Largest Indoor Carousel

It's totally normal to have a carousel in your home, let alone the world's largest carousel in your home, right? The carousel in The House on the Rock is stunning but I'm not sure if you're allowed to ride it sadly. I don't see anything about that online so I'd bet that we're only allowed to look. There are a whopping 269 animals on this carousel!

Heritage of the Sea

Don't be alarmed but there's a massive sea monster in The House on the Rock, too. It's as long as the Statue of Liberty is tall... so it's massive! In the same room as the sea monster is over 200 model ships and a display of the Titanic.

There's also an entire tiny town in the house, a room full of model airplanes, and a beautiful garden. And that's just scraping the surface! Obviously, there's a lot to look at so if you'd like, they have a The House on the Rock Resort and Inn where you can stay with pools and a golf course. Yeah, this place is just getting better and better. Time to play a weekend vacation!
