(UPDATE) Suspect Named and Austin Murder Victim Identified
Austin, MN (KROC-AM News) - An arrest warrant has been issued for a suspect in an Austin murder case.
Austin Police Chief David Mckichan says 27-year-old Me’Darian McGruder has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with a fatal shooting last weekend. McGruder is accused of killing 20-year-old Tyesha Gills, who was found fatally wounded in a home in the 100 block of 10th Street Northwest in Austin around 2 AM Saturday.
Officials have not released information about the circumstances of the Austin woman’s death or the evidence used to bring the murder charge against McGruder, whose whereabouts are unknown. Anyone with information about the suspect’s location is asked to contact the Austin Police Department.

Austin, MN (KROC-AM News) - The victim of a fatal shooting in Austin over the weekend has been identified.
Austin police chief David McKichan says 20-year-old Tyesha Gills died on Saturday after she was taken to the Mayo Clinic Health System Hospital in Austin. The Austin woman was found shot inside a residence in the 100 block of 10th Street Northwest around 2 AM.
Austin police have yet to report any arrests in the case. Chief McKichan earlier stated that investigators do not believe it was a random incident and did not consider there to be an ongoing danger to the public.
Agents from the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension are assisting with the ongoing investigation.
