I grew up on a farm between Pine Island and Mantorville. We had a herd of dairy cattle and a few bulls. The bulls were mildly tame and one was wacky. They are big dangerous animals up close and if you're running with a LOT of them, things could get ugly. Yup, I rode one one time, bareback. He came around and bunted me off and caught my side. Knocked the wind out of me, but luckily my cousin was there to distract him.
I found this amusing...Chicago author Bill Hillmann, who co-wrote a book called "How to Survive the Running of the Bulls", was gored yesterday during the Running of the Bulls in Pamplona, Spain. The 32 year-old tripped and fell when a bull gored him in his right thigh. The black bull weighed 1,300 pounds.
Would you ever want to do something like this?- Alan
