Blooming Prairie Homicide Suspect Caught On Video In FL
This morning the Lee County Sheriff's Office in Florida released surveillance video from a Florida bar showing 56-year-old Lois Riess patronizing the Smokin' Oyster Brewery on April 5th, days before she was believed to have killed a Florida woman. Riess is currently wanted in Dodge County as a suspect in a homicide that took place in Blooming Prairie.
The video released by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office showed a smiling Riess wearing a light blue shirt and has white/gray hair.
Riess has since left South Florida and was last seen in the Corpus Christi area in Texas. Riess is suspected of killing her husband, David, in late March in their Blooming Prairie home. She is believed to have stopped at an Iowa casino on her way to Florida. Last week, police in Florida found a white 2005 Cadillac Escalade that Riess was believed to have been driving after her husband’s death.
It is believed that Riess befriended 59-year-old Pamela Hutchinson who had a similar appearance. Authorities say Riess then shot Hutchinson and took off with her credit cards, cash and her white 2005 Acura TL with Florida license plate Y37TAA. Photos showed Riess at the condo of Hutchinson, who was found dead on April 9. Riess is facing charges in both Florida and Minnesota for her alleged crimes.
Lois Riess is described as white, 5 feet 5 and 165 pounds, with brown eyes and blond hair.
