Cam duet of "Burning House" with Smokey Robinson is the kind of performance that will stop you in your tracks and compel you to listen to every word.

The country star and soul legend are the newest match made for an episode of CMT Crossroads, and their voices couldn't complement each other more perfectly, particularly on Cam's harrowing ballad. The song is already powerful with just her voice, but when she and the iconic Robinson unite, it gives the song even more meaning. Robinson has a way of making the song sound like his own, his voice glowing as he and Cam trade off lines.

Cam is clearly in awe of the R&B superstar throughout the performance, especially when he hits an impressive high note during the final chorus before they embrace in a genuine hug at song's end.

Robinson established himself as a leader of the Motown Sound as lead singer of the Miracles in the 1950s, celebrating hits like "Shop Around" — which is in the Grammy Hall of Fame — "What So Good About Goodbye," "You've Really Got a Hold on Me" and many more. He tells CMT that "Diane" is the song that made him a devoted fan of the country powerhouse.

"This woman is a great songwriter," Robinson says of Cam. "She’s a great singer. She’s a great person. That makes it so much easier, and I think we blend better when we feel like that about somebody."

"I grew up listening to Motown, and my dad singing Motown to me, me trying to emulate Motown," adds Cam. "And these are the songs that I think are basically the standard of what good music is."

Cam and Robinson's moving voices unite when their episode of CMT Crossroads airs Wednesday (March 28) at 10PM ET.
